Korean Placemakers

Working across the built environment and cultural production, placemakers shape spaces that foster belonging, encourage creativity, and build community. We are bringing Korean architects, designers, restauranteurs, and entrepreneurs together to imagine and build places people can belong, evolve, and thrive.

Learn about the work and stories of Bay Area Koreans involved in placemaking. Restaurant owners (Ina Jungin Lee of Matko & Korner Store, Esther Kim of Buoy), interior designer of SOHN (Cathie Hong), developer (Charles Shin of Treasure Island Development Group), and architects (EB Min of Min Design & Christina Cho Yoo of Atelier Cho Thompson). Panel discussion moderated by Joy Yi Boatwright of the SF Seoul Sister Committee.

Come meet incredible local makers Judy Kim of Bojagi, Mieki Kin of Oasiis Beauty, and the fabulous minhwa artist KK Kim.

Food and drinks will be served.

A special thanks to our sponsors, Singular Builders, Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Minhwa Spirits, SOOL/Makku, & Buoy.
