2025 Community Grant for Cultural Competency and Language Access for Under-Resourced Korean Americans

INTRODUCTION

The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) is committed to building a vibrant Bay Area Korean American community through philanthropy. Our grant program supports community-based organizations that are on the frontline to increase the cultural competency and language access of critical programs for the Korean American community. KACF-SF is now accepting requests for proposals (RFPs) from community-based organizations serving Northern California.

Grants will range from $5,000 to $50,000 per year and are renewable for up to three years, contingent upon the progress and achievements of the funded programs. The deadline to apply is August 29, 2025.

2025 DATES & DEADLINES

• RFP Application Available: July 14, 2025

• RFP Webinar: July 22, 2025, at 11:00 am PDT (REGISTER HERE)

• RFP Application Deadline: August 29, 2025, at 11:59 pm PDT

• Initial Review Notification: September 2025

• Site Visits: October 2025 - November 2025

• Notification of Grant Awards: December 2025

About KACF-SF
The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) was established in 2014 to uplift and connect the Korean American community through philanthropy. Our mission is to address the chronic underinvestment in the Korean immigrant community by funding programs that support under-resourced Korean American individuals and families, while also encouraging community members to give and get involved.

Since our founding, KACF-SF has awarded over $3.5 million in grants to 45 community-based organizations serving low-income Korean and Asian American immigrants. We prioritize funding nonprofits that deliver culturally competent services and improve language access for the Korean American community in Northern California.

We support programs that:

• Provide critical services to Korean Americans in need

Eligibility Requirements:

• Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit or have a fiscal sponsor that is 501(c)(3)

• Have at least six months of operational history

• Have an active Board of Directors

• Have submitted IRS Form 990 and/or audited financials

Please note: Organizations applying for both KACF-SF’s Community Grant and KACF’s National Grant will only be eligible to receive one grant.

We do not fund:

• Individuals

• Capital fund projects

• Endowments

• Fundraising events

• Feasibility studies

• Real estate purchases

• Public or private schools, colleges, or universities

• Political causes or campaigns to elect candidates to public office

• Programs that do not comply with federal, state, or local equal employment statutes

소개

샌프란시스코 한인 커뮤니티 재단(KACF-SF)은 한인 커뮤니티를 연결하고 지원하기 위해 2014년에 설립되었습니다. KACF-SF의 사명은 구조적으로 소외되어 온 한인 이민자 커뮤니티를 지원하는 프로그램에 재정적 투자를 확대하고, 커뮤니티 구성원들의 참여와 나눔을 독려하는 것입니다.

KACF-SF는 설립 이래 총 45개의 지역 기반 단체에 350만 달러 이상의 보조금을 지원해 왔으며, 저소득 한인 및 아시아계 이민자들을 위한 서비스를 제공하는 단체에 우선적으로 지원하고 있습니다. KACF-SF는 문화적으로 적절한 서비스 제공과 언어 접근성을 개선하는 단체에 중점을 두고 있습니다.

지원금은 연간 $5,000에서 $50,000까지이며, 선정된 프로그램의 성과 및 진전에 따라 1년에서 최대 3년까지 갱신 가능합니다. 신청 마감일은 2025년 8월 29일입니다.

• 현장방문: 2025년 10월 - 11월

• 최종 선정 단체 발표: 2025년 12월 

신청안내

• Microsoft Word 형식으로 신청서를 다운로드 하여 작성

• 제공되는 양식 외 다른 양식 또는 수기로 작성하여 제출 시 접수 불가

신청 자격 요건

• 미국 세법상 501(c)(3) 비영리 단체이거나 해당 자격을 가진 재정 후원 단체(fiscal sponsor)를 보유한 단체

• 최소 6개월 이상의 운영 이력

• 활동 중인 이사회(Board of Directors) 보유

• IRS 양식 990 또는 감사를 받은 재무제표 제출

유의사항: KACF-SF 지역 커뮤니티 보조금과 뉴욕소재의 KACF 내셔널 보조금에 동시에 신청하는 경우, 한 가지 보조금만 선정될 수 있습니다.

다음의 경우 지원 대상에서 제외: 

• 개인

• 건축 기금 프로젝트

• 기금 운용 목적의 기부금

• 기금 마련 행사

• 타당성 조사

• 부동산 구입

• 공립 또는 사립 초중고, 대학교

• 정치적인 활동이나 선거 캠페인

• 연방, 주, 지방 고용 평등법을 준수하지 않는 프로그램
