The Korean-American creator of graphic memoir “Advocate” talks community, Chinatown, and environmental justice.

Join us for a youth-led discussion with artist and public interest lawyer Eddie Ahn, creator of the national bestseller “Advocate” published by Penguin Random House. Blending a visual presentation with emotional storytelling, Eddie and high school student leaders will discuss the great challenges ahead for local communities in this special Lunar New Year event. First 50 people to attend will receive a free tote bag.

About the Author

Eddie Ahn is a self-taught artist, with a national bestselling graphic memoir “Advocate” published by Penguin Random House as well as a large following on Instagram @ehacomics. As a nonprofit lawyer and executive director, Eddie leads Brightline Defense (“Brightline”), an environmental justice nonprofit based in San Francisco, and he also serves as a commissioner for three local and state government agencies related to environmental policymaking. In addition to his longtime community work, his illustration work is displayed on utility boxes and walls across San Francisco.
