You Can’t “Getaway” From These Auction Items
Attention all auction participants! The silent auction closes at 10:00 p.m. tomorrow, at the end of the gala! With that in mind, we wanted to generate a little buzz by explaining a little about what you can expect from a couple of the silent auction items that are up right now.
First, if you look above this paragraph, we have the Russian River Valley Vineyard Estate Getaway (5 days). You get 1900s Victorian-style architecture, surrounded by nature and an amazing view of vineyards spanning far off in the distance that all culminate into a wonderful, relaxing “getaway” to enjoy those finer things in life you always put off until now. With the premises being able to accommodate up to 12 guests, this experience is perfect for a wide range of occasions, such as a medium-sized family event, a work retreat, or even a fun trip with the ladies or gents.
The fast business WiFi means you can conveniently work from the lofty, exquisite comfort of “your” vineyard estate, perhaps sipping a glass of wine on the patio at 2 o’clock in the afternoon with a view of the very grapevines that grew the grapes in your wine. There are also multiple wineries and vineyards in close proximity to the estate, some very well within walking distance, so your morning or evening strolls will never be uneventful.
Another item on our list is the Serene Getaway in Pebble Beach (7 days), pictured above. Not only is Pebble Beach a beautiful area with gorgeous houses, but it is located in between two popular vacation spots: Carmel and Monterey. Whether it is watching sea-lions in Monterey or taking walks around the lovely downtown of Carmel, you would be able to visit and take full advantage of all that these places have to offer, and after a long day - or six - you can enjoy your 5 minute drive back to Pebble Beach to get some well deserved rest.
I think something many people forget about with these experiences is just how different it usually is from regular day-to-day life living in a suburban neighborhood or in the city where there is a lot less nature and a lot more noise and obligation and routine. What these getaways can really provide is a home away from home, albeit for a few days, where you can escape having to live your life and focus on enjoying it.
