OPEN IN EMERGENCY: A Conversation About Mental Health in Our Communities

  • Kearny Street Workshop (Arc Gallery) 1246 Folsom Street San Francisco, CA, 94103 United States (map)

Join RAMS, in partnership with Kearny Street Workshop (KSW) and Asian American Literary Review (AALR), on March 31, 2018, for an evening of readings, performances and interactive stations, as we collectively explore and discuss mental health in our communities.

Readers and facilitators include Brandon Som, Mimi Khúc, Lawrence-Minh Bùi Davis, Chad Shomura, and Simi Kang. We'll have interactive stations, which will include a tarot reading station using AALR's beautiful set of tarot cards; Corner of Heart to Hearts, where you will have an opportunity to experiment with language and memory through a randomly drawn word prompt; a Child-to-Parent Letter-Writing Station, which includes penning a letter to your parents, articulating the things you wished you could tell them; and a Self-Care Cards Station, where you can gift a card to a friend while also creating intentional practices of self-care. For more information, go to RAMS' website:

Doors will open at 6:45 p.m., with the event hosted by the Kearny Street Workshop (@ 1246 Folsom Street).
