The festival celebrates Chuseok (추석), a Korean holiday very similar to Thanksgiving. It’s a day in which Koreans give thanks and spend time with family and those we care about. The exact day of Chuseok changes every year because it’s based on the Lunar calendar, but it’s normally in either September or October. Every year for the past 25 years, the Bay Area Korean community has celebrated Chuseok to raise cultural awareness of Korea.
Please note, details posted are from last year. There are no 2017 updates yet but we expect the same this year.
